Speech of Chair of the Committee in UN General Assembly

In the first decade of October 2020 a high level meeting on the 25th Anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women under the theme “Accelerating the Realization of Gender Equality and the Empowerment of all Women and Girls” was convened in the General Assembly of the United Nation.

Republic of Tajikistan at this event was represented by the Chair of the Tajikistan Committee on women and family affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Ms. Hilolbi Kurbonzoda through a pre-recorded video-message.

During the speech, Ms. Hilolbi Kurbonzoda emphasized the importance of Beijing Declaration and Platform of Action in promoting gender equality and empowering women in the world. She informed on the country`s significant achievements have been made by the support of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Honourable Emomali Rahmon in ensuring gender equality and promoting the status of women in society.
