Educational training on "Incorporating gender sensitivity into sectoral activities"

On July 17 this year, in the conference room of the Vocational Education and Training Project Management Group for the sectoral working group of ministries and departments, was held a training course on "Incorporating gender sensitivity into sectoral activities". The training was organized by the Vocational Education and Training Project Management Team in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population, Сommittee for Women and Family Affairs, Asian Development Bank, GOPA branch in Tajikistan. It was attended by representatives of the ministries of agriculture, energy and water resources, transport, committees on women and family affairs, architecture and construction, tourism development, a national consultant and specialist on gender and education of the Asian Development Bank in Tajikistan.

It should be noted that the training was conducted on the basis of international experience, with the participation of a national expert on the topic "The position of women in the labor market in Tajikistan and its role in the economic development of the family", a representative of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs spoke on the topic "Implementation of gender policy in the Republic of Tajikistan and improving the status of women in society ”, the coordinator of the competency-based learning methodology (TAS) spoke on the topic “ Ways to provide vocational training for women and girls in the framework of the project to strengthen vocational education and training ”, a representative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade spoke on the topic“ The importance of Implementation Mechanism, Best Practices and Implementation of the Gender Budget in the Republic of Tajikistan ”, was also coordinated by a gender specialist and training from the Asian Development Bank.

It is worth noting that the presentations were discussed by the members of the sectoral working group of ministries and departments, who presented their conclusions on how to solve existing problems.

At the end of the training program, the participants carried out a group work “Developing gender budgets in ministries and agencies in five sectors: energy, agriculture, transport, construction and tourism”.
