Gender equality is a priority for sustainable development

The Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a training on the topic "Gender equality is a priority for sustainable development" with the participation of representatives of the judiciary and the ministries of justice, economic development and trade, health and social protection, finance, culture, the Agency for Statistics, committees local development, youth and sports, tourism development, television and radio.

It should be noted that this training is aimed at implementing point 3 of action 4.8.2.3 of the Medium-Term Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2016-2020 and point 2 of subparagraph 4 of the National Action Plan for the implementation of the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Prevention of All Forms of Discrimination against Women for 2019 -2022, which one of its main goals is the formation of gender groups in the government.

The participants noted the feasibility of such trainings by government agencies. It should be pointed that the implementation of items of the Medium-Term Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan and National Action Plans in accordance with the international obligations of the Republic of Tajikistan plays a key role in raising the status of the Republic of Tajikistan among the countries of the world.
